Senior Grant Writer
Whit Smith holds an MSW and MA Degree in Nonprofit Organizations from the University of Georgia. He served as a case worker for adults with persistent mental illness in inner-city Atlanta, GA. He also has experience working with the homeless and persons with HIV/AIDS. As Senior Grant Writer, he is responsible for completing grant proposals for foundation, state and federal grants.

She has 12 years experience in youth development and community mobilization with the Boys & Girls Clubs of El Paso. Throughout the years she has served in multiple positions including Youth Specialist, Club Director, and Project Coordinator. She also has extensive experience managing and training personnel at BGCEP. As Program Director she is responsible for managing state and federal funding, collecting and organizing data on program metrics, meeting all grant reporting requirements and community outreach.

Brenda Garcia holds an Associates degree in childhood education and is currently a senior at the University of Texas at El Paso, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Bilingual Elementary Education. She has a CPR/First Aid Certification. She has served as a volunteer of the Special Olympics Class A Volunteer for two years. As a Unit Director of Club Janacek, Brenda is responsible for completing grant documentation, supervising program, member enrollment, communicating with parents and school personnel, supervising staff and volunteers, and generating networks for donations and community outreach.
